Conditional Image

Series of works are an attempt to create a notion of revisiting. In which, photography is and has been the medium through which I communicate the idea of loss and remembrance. The other materials which sometimes replace photography are the ones that carry similar functions of carrying depth and curiosity of the surface like a photograph. A photograph for me doesn’t serve only for its technique but also for its materiality and the idea of absence with which it gets its importance. In that way, the objects such as photographs deviate from what is present but rather communicates through what is absent. This idea of being present and absent at the same time is similar to the idea of the city I am working on while dwelling on the objects which have a similar meaning of ‘materiality’ as a photograph.
